The most sensitive and specific test for TB infection is now automated (1,2)

The T-SPOT.TB test is now automated, giving you more streamlined workflows, simplified sample logistics and freeing up your technicians' time.

The T-SPOT.TB test is the only globally regulated IGRA available that is normalised for both cell number and culture conditions. The test standardises the number of cells and removes serum factors that could adversely affect the test result, making it the most sensitive and most specific test for TB infection1. You can quickly and reliably diagnose, and treat, TB infection in all patient groups, including the immunosuppressed3.

Automating the T-SPOT.TB test

It is now possible to automate the T-SPOT.TB test using the CE-marked T Cell SelectTM reagent kit.  Automating the test gives you better control of how you run your lab.

  • Improve your workflow efficiency
  • Reduce your hands-on time
  • Extend your sample stability up to 54 hours

The automated process is more efficient, allowing us to organise the lab better, so technicians can also work on other tests. We also now handle large screenings with our normal staff levels

Liquid handling steps of the plate development process can be automated.  Each result should be individually validated before reporting

Our automation solutions are customisable and scalable – meaning that they can adapt to your changing requirements. By choosing to automate just one, a number, or all of the processes within the T-SPOT.TB test workflow, you can select the most cost-effective solution for your specific needs.

Reduce your hands-on time by up to 60%

Increase efficiency with less hands-on time allowing other tasks to be carried out.

Standard ELISA protocol – Dynex DS2® run with 22 samples. Fully automated T-SPOT.TB process run with 24 samples
Hands-on time includes any period interacting with process plus any walk away time less than 15 minutes

Sample storage for over two days after collection

With the T-Cell Select reagent kit, samples for the T-SPOT.TB test can now be processed up to 54 hours after collection. That’s over two full days from venepuncture until the sample needs to be processed in the laboratory, meaning that:

  • Samples can be shipped from a greater distance, expanding the laboratory’s reach
  • Late arriving samples can be stored for processing the following day
  • Batching samples is now possible for more efficient lab planning
  • Clinicians can plan TB clinics around their needs rather than the needs of the test
